Our 14 intrepid Goodrich dads cycled a mind-blowing 350km over two days last weekend, raising an amazing £9,020 for the school. They started near Goodrich Castle – close to Wales – and pedalled through rain, floods and some beautiful countryside returning to school in time for the Summer Fair and a massive Goodrich welcome!
Well done to all the riders, many of whom had never pedalled such a distance, and especially to organisers Matthew Chiles and David Sargen. Huge thanks to sponsors DRS and Balfe’s Bikes for accompanying the riders with a technical support van. Plus to Family Feasts for supplying the first night’s dinner and mid-ride snacks and Pinkfrog Design for designing the team logo. And of course THANK YOU to everyone who donated to the team’s fundraising page, for your amazing generosity.
We have now formed a Goodrich cycling club, and are hoping more mums, dads and other family members will feel inspired to try out cycling or take part in future events of varying distances! Please contact email@example.com if you’re interested in finding out more.
We’re hosting a Friends of Goodrich Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September, from 9-10am in the Lower Hall. Join us for coffee and cake and help us raise vital funds for people affected by cancer. If you’re new to Goodrich, it’s also a chance to meet other parents at a friendly get together for a very good cause. And if you can bake (or grab a packet of biscuits from the shop) all donations will be gratefully received!
Thanks to all the new Goodrich families who came along to our welcome picnic in super sunny Peckham Rye park on Sunday. It was lovely to meet you all! We hope your little ones settle well into school and that we’ll see you again soon at a future Friends of Goodrich (FoG) event.
Keep an eye on our events page, the weekly newsletter and our social media pages (Twitter and Facebook) or drop us a line on firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to get more involved.
Back by popular demand is the FoG Children’s Disco, run with the Little Disco Company and taking place after school on Friday 29 June.
Tickets are priced at £2 each and are available from the Office from today. Tickets will not be sold on the door so do make sure to pick yours up in advance.
