It’s been a World Book Day week of wonder here at Goodrich!
The children had an awe-inspiring week of author visits: firing up their imagination, absorbing fascinating facts, developing illustration skills, and getting the chance to ask burning questions of real life authors. They’ve been learning how to draw evil chickens with Emer Stamp, and enjoying story-telling workshops with Suzanne Hemmings, Lucy Reynolds and Rob Lloyd Jones. Not to mention reading and discussion with multi-award-winning author Geraldine McCaughrean. Plus there was the chance for all children to have their books personally signed by the authors they met.
Thanks to funding from FoG and an enormous amount of hard work by Goodrich parent Marcela Ferreira to organise all the events, there was a wonderful author visit every day, covering all age groups from nursery through to year 6.
And finally, thanks to Dulwich Books for kindly supporting our WBD token swap and book stall.
