Burns Night Ceilidh 2020

They speak of my drinking but never of my thirst…

The annual Burns Night Ceilidh is upon us – Friday 31st January, Lythgoe Hall, 8pm till late. Back due to popular demand is the Goodrich Burns Night Ceilidh featuring live music from the amazing 20 strong SEL Folk Orchestra. Bring your dancing shoes or just come along to soak up the atmosphere! Tartan is encouraged but totally optional. Beware there will be prizes! If you’ve never been to a ceilidh before, it’s lots of fun! Absolutely no experience is necessary. Don’t worry, you will be guided through each step of the dances by a caller. Half the fun is getting it wrong!

Don’t just take our word for it, ask those who attended last year’s ceilidh, like Mitra Abtahi, Mum of Sebastian in Year 2. Mitra says; “Burns Night was one of the most enjoyable events that we attended last year. Whilst we are not Scottish, we had the pleasure of enjoying the live music, dancing, catching up with friends and other parents. It was well organised and we have been looking forward to the event this year. If you are looking for a fun night, whether to catch up with friends or would like to put your dancing skills to test, then this is the night for you.”

We are delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for the very first time ONLINE at: http://buytickets.at/friendsofgoodrich

Tickets are also available from the school office. Tickets are £10 and include a welcome drink. Hotdogs and Veggie dogs will be available to buy.

Goodrich Burns Night, 25th January

Scottish tartan kilt

Fancy a bit of Friday night dancing? To music from a live band, the awesome local SEL Folk Orchestra? And with entertainment from a piper kindly supplied by one of our Scottish families? Plus with a ‘caller’, who basically tells you what to do dance-wise…

It’s our Burns Night ‘Ceilidh’, which just means gathering for the non-Celtic folk amongst us 😉. And it’s happening next Friday, 25th January.

No prior experience necessary (phew…) just bring lots of enthusiasm, grab a few friends, have a couple of cocktails from the bar and away you go…

Tickets are £10 with a welcome drink thrown in for free, and they are going down faster than a haggis hot dog (did we say mention we’ll have those too?) Buy your tickets outside the office every morning from 9am. Payment by cash or card.
