Whoop whoop the Winter Trail! Saturday 3rd December 12-2pm !!!

This year’s Winter Trail will be 12-2pm on Saturday 3rd December – since we’ve realised a clash with a possible England World Cup game we’ve revised our plans a bit and also moved it earlier in the day.  As last year, there will be a map on sale from school on the day which will show the location of the stalls and decorated windows to visit to collect letters.  You will need to uncover the hidden word to collect a small prize back at school. As well as the stalls, there will be food for sale around the trail, including FoG dogs and Indian food, as well as cakes.

We’re after donations of Christmas jumpers (age 4+), jolly jam jars and chapter and reference books*.  Please bring them to the school office or send them into school with your child from Monday.  Towards the end of the week we will be looking for donations of cakes and festive bakes.

*We have lots of books in storage, so would like donations of chapter and reference books only please.

We’re still after volunteers to help on the day.  We’d love someone to take on selling mulled wine, or running a tuck shop or lucky dip stall.  And if you could spare even 30 minutes to help on a stall or with set up/clear up then please email friendsofgoodrich@gmail.com.

Playground Art! Calling all artists, creative and wanna-be’s, we need you! Hopefully everyone has now had chance to see the spectacular bottle top ‘Reduce, Recycle, Reuse Octopus’ in the lower playground. We are looking for an artistic volunteer/volunteers to take on the next project of creating a world map for the playground. This is something the children via the school council have asked for many times.  If anyone has any fab ideas and wants to be involved please email us on friendsofgoodrich@gmail.com

FoG Survey – What should we spend our money on? FoG raises thousands of pounds every year to enrich the education of children who attend Goodrich. Here’s your chance to have your say and shape the future of FoG. Have your say herebit.ly/fog-survey The survey will be open for responses until 9th December 2022.

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Goodrich Quiz at school last Friday! It was a great turn out and lovely to see so many parents and carers, both old and new enjoying a night out in the school hall!

And a massive shout out to Kirsty aka Lewyns mum for organising it all, you are a superstar!

More thanks you too…

Tina Sparkle, our fabulous quiz master, who came back to host even after her children have now left the school.

Lloyd & Sarah Purser for organising and running the bar.

Maqbool Ahmad for providing the delicious food.

Steve Bannon, the Premises Manager who stayed until the bitter end to make sure we all left!

The office staff for printing tickets and posters.

And Everyone who came to set up the room with tables, sound, lights, float, raffle tickets, prizes etc…

If anyone would like to join an adult’s event team and be part of making these events happen, please email friendsofgoodrich@gmail.com. We would love to be able to put on more events like this one but is only made possible by volunteers. We raised a whooping £1,104 for Friends of Goodrich, money which will go towards making Goodrich even more fun for our children.

And thank you to all those that agreed to have a Winter Trail sponsorship board at your house! It is so much appreciated and such an easy way we can raise funds for our school.

Lastly, keep a look out for your kiddos holiday cards, etc they will be delivered to the school in the beginning of December then home in school book bags. Thank you to all those that put in an order, we raised £579! And enjoy your gorgeous cards.
