FoG News 09/12/2022

The last day of term is nearly upon us so let’s celebrate! Next Friday Dec 16th we will be kicking off the last day of term with an epic bake sale, mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pie extravaganza! And don’t forget second-hand uniforms and a bookstall. Join us at 2:30pm in the playground for a bit of music &  festive cheer before we head out for the hols. Cakes and mince pies donations will be gratefully received, you can drop them in the office on the day or bring them straight to the stall Friday afternoon.

FoG group on Facebook! We’ve created a new FoG Facebook group for community events, fundraising, home and learning support, and anything that enriches the experience of children at Goodrich. We’d love for all to get involved, click on the link below to join:

Holiday cheer! Our *Winter Trail* was a great success and raised *£2425* for Friends of Goodrich, which will be spent on the children. The hidden word in the windows was HOLLY AND IVY. We hope everyone enjoyed their candy cane prize!

Thank you to everyone who came along on a rather cold day and also a big thanks to the window designers, the stall holders, everyone who helped on the day and donated to the stalls and a big thank you to Alexia, Kate and Rachel for organising the event and to our sponsor *Ludlow Thompson*.

The school is looking very festive thanks to FoG! We have three beautiful Christmas trees in the school now (upper & lower hall & Lythgoe) for the children to enjoy. The gorgeous trees were purchased and decorated by F0G. We also gave silver stars for the reception & nursery children to decorate with eco friendly glitter. The stars were kindly donated by Papershapers. Our school is really looking sparkly!

Playground Art! Calling all artists, creative and wanna-be’s, we need you! Hopefully everyone has now had chance to see the spectacular bottle top ‘Reduce, Recycle, Reuse Octopus’ in the lower playground. We are looking for an artistic volunteer/volunteers to take on the next project of creating a world map for the playground. This is something the children via the school council have asked for many times.  If anyone has any fab ideas and wants to be involved please email us on

Thanks to everyone for all the second hand uniform and book donations! We’ve got all we need now and will be selling them at the cake sale on Friday Dec. 16th.
